Stokum is the fictional town that Luke Hunter lives in.
Residents of Stokum
- Luke Hunter
- is the main character of the book and has to deal with some serious problems. Like predicting people's deaths and then feeling when they actually die. He also has to deal with his best friend Fang acting strange, religious fanatics, his parents concern, and he's in high school.
- Fang
- AKA Todd Delaney, is Luke's best friend. They grew up together and get high together on a regular basis. Fang has a thing for climbing and jumping of tall structures. While Luke's publicly going through a lot of stuff, Fang deals with a lot privatly.
- Faith Taylor
- is the girl that Luke likes, but she was Stan's girlfriend...then Stan died in a freak accident.
- Stan
- was the all around nice guy, but is best known for featuring in one of Luke's predictions of death... and then fullfilling the prediction.
- Mr. Bernoffski
- Was the second death prediction that Luke sees.
- Dwight Slater
- is one of they guys that Luke gets stoned with on a regular basis. His brother Dwight is going to Iraq with the army.
- Dr. and Mrs. Cramp
- believe very strongly in their faith and believe that Luke's visions really important.
- Hank
- is the owner of Hank's T-shirt Shack and a friend of Luke's
- Lance Winters
- the small town new reporter who is desperate to join the big leagues. Is regularly seen stalking Luke in the hopes of getting a big story.
Places
- Gandy's Rock
- is a really big rock near the town of Stokum that is #1 on Luke and Fang's list of places to jump off.
- Hank's T-shirt Shack
- The awesome t-shirt etc store where Luke and Stan get the "Stokum Sucks t-shirts.
